I’m Ethan Daoust, an independent producer, writer and filmmaker from West Kelowna BC. Since graduating I’ve gone on to co-found and co-own 100P Film Studios in Kelowna. I started at the Center for Arts and Technologies in 2020 with a basic understanding of composition and framing. I originally went into the school with the hopes of learning and understanding cinematography and lighting but throughout the program realised I had a knack for producing and writing. The courses within the digital filmmaking program helped get a broad understanding of all the basic fundamentals of what it takes to make a movie. The instructor provided amazing one-on-one training to help me in areas that I struggled and to push me in areas I could excel. The support the school has given us post graduation has been fantastic. They genuinely care about how you are doing and will work to help you further your career. They consistently allow us to continue using the facilities and equipment along with sending us any job opportunities they think would be a good fit. All in all CATO is a great school with great people who genuinely care about you and your needs. I have not had a better experience in education and can highly recommend the film program to any aspiring filmmaker.
