Frostbite, Battle of the Bands, was hosted at the Fredericton Capital Exhibit Centre on Saturday, February 1st, 2014. The performances were excellent ranging from all different types of musical genres, making for a truly awesome night.
The Centre for Arts and Technology would like to congratulate Socially Exceptable for winning the first ever Frostbite: Battle of the Bands! Socially Exceptable will get their demo recorded on the Centre’s SSL (Solid State Logic) mixing console and have the original song promoted on The HOT 92.3 radio station. They have also won the opportunity to play a live gig at the Fredericton iRock in the near future.
The judges for the Battle of the Bands consisted of Centre for Arts and Technology Audio Engineering Instructors Kevin Herring and Brad Perry, Digital Filmmaking Instructor Chris Giles and Marketing Coordinator John MacLean. Out of the sixteen performers, metal bands Anesthesia and A Code of Silence placed Top 3 during the competition, and went neck and neck in ‘sudden death’ with local hip hop group Socially Exceptable!
Moreover, our Graphic Design students had the pleasure of working with the Fredericton Capital Exhibit Centre to create the logo for Frostbite: Battle of the bands.
