Earlier in June we caught wind of two of our audio graduates playing at a huge concert at the PNE Ground in Vancouver on Canada Day long weekend. Datsik and Excision are graduates from the Audio Engineering Program in Kelowna and have experienced massive success in their own rights ever since.
As a school we felt we would
be negligent if we didn’t send at least one current student to cheer them on within the sea of other onlookers. So we held a contest, open to all current students, which included 2 tickets to the event and a $150 Pre-Paid Visa card for spending money. There was an overwhelming response and we were proud to announce that one of our Student Leadership Council members, Fashion Design student Monaco Krohn had won the tickets.
Monaco is a model student and all-around great person, so we were happy the prize had landed in her hands…except for one small thing…Monaco had never listened to Dubstep music before. This, of course is not an issue, aside from her expected level of enjoyment out of this event.
But Monaco, being the “ready for anything” type of person, immersed herself in the concert atmosphere and truly enjoyed herself. She did manage to take some fashion notes while she was there, even if they were style notes on “what NOT to wear”. A true fashionista at heart, Monaco was able to appreciate the fashion diversity for what it was…fun, plain and simple.
Thanks to Monaco for representing our school and coming back with a few images to include in this blog.
