Atlantic Canada Centre for Arts and Technology is now DaVinci College of Art and Design

Centre for Arts and Technology announced today that the assets for its campuses in Halifax, NS, and Fredericton, NB, have been acquired by the management of Success College and Maritime Business College. This acquisition does not include CAT’s flagship campus in Kelowna, BC, which will be unaffected by the sale and will continue operations and program intakes as usual. The management of Success College and Maritime Business College, Halifax-based private colleges, will operate this new entity as Davinci College of Art and Design NS Ltd.

This is a positive step forward for both organizations and will bring local ownership to the colleges in Atlantic Canada.  No layoffs are planned and significant effort has gone into planning and ensuring a seamless transition.

Centre for Arts and Technology is owned by TEC The Education Company (TEC), an educational management company established in 2003.TEC announced that it will continue to operate its flagship Centre for Arts and Technology campus in Kelowna, BC, and is excited about the opportunities for growth for this campus, including a new focus on International recruiting, new industry engagement opportunities for graduates and currents students, and increased flexibility around online program delivery. President Martin Theiss will continue to operate the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna.

Says Martin Theiss, President of Centre for Arts and Technology, “The departure of the Atlantic Canada campuses is sad news to us all. We’re extremely proud of the incredible reputation these campuses have built based on their unwavering commitment to excellence. That said, running three campuses spread out as vastly as we are across Canada is a challenging undertaking, logistically speaking, and requires enormous bandwidth. While we are very sorry to see these campuses move on under another banner, this transition is an exciting opportunity for all involved.”

Centre for Arts and Technology’s Kelowna campus features two contemporary recording studios, a digital photography studio, production studio, in addition to extensive digital video, digital media, digital effects, fashion design, IT and animation labs.
