Hello, Centre for Arts and Technology Graduates!
Graduation day is almost upon us! We are very excited to celebrate with you and your friends and family. Please read the following carefully as there is very important information regarding the schedule of events, tickets and portrait opportunities.
Registration Reminder, Ceremony Schedule, and Tickets
Grads, you MUST register to let us know you will be attending the ceremony on Saturday, September 21st. If you intend to attend the ceremony and have not yet registered, please do so immediately.
Please arrive with your guests at 2:00 pm sharp to the Kelowna Community Theatre (1375 Water St.) on Saturday, September 21st. The theatre will have their cash bars open to purchase beverages and there will be a photo booth in the lobby for fun, group photos. Parking in the area is limited, your best option is to use one of the area parkades.
We are not printing physical tickets; there will be a list at the front to identify those who have purchased additional tickets for friends and family. As a reminder, additional tickets can be purchased online or via Holly at reception.
When you arrive, please find Megan Reid, who, along with a team of helpers will be organizing all of you into your program groups in alphabetical order. Once you are in alphabetical order, it is imperative that you stay in this order. Friends and family are welcome to enter the theatre at this time while the grads get prepped into program groups. You will be provided a graduate sash to wear over your clothes. Cap and gowns are not being used for the ceremony so please ensure that your attire is appropriate as it will NOT be covered up by a gown.
The ceremony will commence at 2:30 pm and will feature an address from Director of Education, Matt Redmond, a special keynote speaker, diploma acknowledgments and awards and closing remarks. We anticipate that everything will conclude no later than 4:00 pm.
Formal Portraits and Ceremony Photography
Formal cap and gown portraits will be taking place in the Lecture Theatre on Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st.
Cap & Gown portrait sessions are optional however, ALL grads are invited to have their portrait taken, whether you are attending the grad ceremony on Saturday or not.
Portrait Session Details:
- Lecture Theater in the main campus building
- For Saturday access – Call the CAGE PHONE at 250.870.2764 when you arrive, if you no longer have your key fob
- Friday September 20th 11:00am to 3:00pm
- Saturday, September 21st, 9:00 am to Noon
- First-come-first-served
- Individual Portraits ONLY – Groups may be accommodated, time permitting.
- Your choice of Cap & Gown or regular attire
- Please arrive ready to be photographed (ie. hair and makeup done)
- Photos will be available for purchase on or before November 15th, 2019
There is no charge to have your photo taken, however print purchases will be at your expense. These portraits will be available no later than November 15th for purchase and will be shipped directly to the address you provide during ordering. You will be notified via email when prints are available for purchase and will be provided a link to the purchase site. Digital files of cap and gown sessions will not be made available, you must purchase prints.
There will be a photographer present during the ceremony on Saturday to photograph the event and take a photo of you receiving your scroll. The ceremony photos will be available FREE OF CHARGE for a digital download no later than November 15th.
