You know those photos you come across sometimes that just give you the chills? Ones that tell a story about a place, a life, a history, like words can’t describe? Ever wonder about the photographers behind some of those images? Ian Gibb is one of those people.

Halifax-based photographer  – and Digital Photography grad – Ian Gibb, went on a trip to Guatemala last fall, and returned with images that tell a story, much like what you’d expect to see in National Geographic. Throughout the month of March, Ian’s work was displayed in 20 large format prints, at the Public Archives in Halifax.

More interested in capturing question marks than punctuating with exclamation points, he looks for subtlety in the immense.
