[PHASE]; emerging designer showcase

On September 25th at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, a chapter in Halifax fashion history will be written. The first ever Fashion Design & Merchandising students to graduate from Centre for Arts and Technology (Halifax) will showcase their final collections, focusing on womenswear, menswear and accessories for both.

This talented cohort – already recognized for their superior creative and technical design and garment construction abilities – has been working extensively for the last two years of the program leading up to this final event, which they have aptly named [PHASE]; emerging designer showcase.

The evening will feature four diverse student collections. One of them will be by Telio’s 2012 Canada’s Breakthrough Designer winner-Mitchell Stuart Gilroy will showcase his high fashion menswear collection inspired by police riot gear. Atlantic Fashion Week emerging designer Eman Mustafa will showcase her unique collection of Middle Eastern womenswear. Making their fashion show debuts, Wadha Al-Abduljader will be making a statement through Islamic, geometric shapes, and Ashley Reading’s CMYK colour printing collection which will be sure to inspire the general viewers as well as the design and print connoisseurs in the audience.
